At Shibari Studios, we prioritize the safety, comfort, and well-being of everyone who steps into our space. That’s why membership is required to participate in most group events, open studio sessions, and special gatherings. Membership helps create a secure environment by ensuring that all participants are committed to upholding the principles of respect, consent, and community. Additionally, it allows us to maintain a high standard of trust by conducting annual background checks for all members. This approach fosters a welcoming and supportive space where individuals can confidently explore the art of shibari, connect with like-minded practitioners, and grow within the community.

Most groups and sessions require a membership in order to attend. The first step, before you sign up for a class, is to complete a membership application.

*Certain intro courses and private classes do not require a membership initially. These offerings are designed for those who are just dipping their toes into what rope has to offer and may not be ready for the commitment of a membership. However, attendees for these sessions may still be subject to background checks for the safety of all attendees and the studio.

Once your membership is approved, you will be able to sign up for the classes and events that interest you!
